Enrolment

How to Enrol

When considering enrolling at a school, it is important that you know what the school offers and whether that matches your educational values and beliefs. In order to ensure you know as much as possible about the school, we would recommend you undertake a guided tour of the school with the Principal, where you will be able to see the school in action and ask any questions you may have. You may even like to make a list of the things which are important to you before visiting us.

At the conclusion of the tour, you may elect to pick up an information pack which contains a Parent Handbook, enrolment forms and other relevant documents and information. Enrolment is made directly with the school.

In order to be able to enrol at Mornington Primary School you need to bring the following into the school office:

  • Enrolment Form
  • Original birth certificate (for proof of age) – we can make a copy for you
  • School Entry Immunisation Certificate

Tours

We are happy to provide school tours to prospective new families. The tour will usually be run by the Principal and will be provided with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. During the tour you will be able to see our school in action and get a feel for what a typical day might look like. Please call the office to make a tour booking.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue running school tours, with just one family per session.

Zones

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au. Findmyschool.vic.gov.au hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones for 2020 onwards.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.
